We continue our series on African-American horror films that we recommend for Halloween. Director Rusty Cundieff and producer Spike Lee combined for a multi-story urban horror classic with 1995’s “Tales from the Hood.”
The film tells the story of a strange funeral director (Clarence Williams III) who tells four strange tales of horror with an African American focus to three drug dealers he traps in his place of business. This Black “Trilogy of Terror” substituted a shoestring budget with provocative storytelling.
In addition to being one of the few dramatic turns from comedian David Alan Grier, we just watched this movie several weeks ago and the ending still raises the hair on the back of our necks!
