Halloween Horror Classics | Def by Temptation

For those of you with looking for something to do tonight and you want to hide from candy-seeking youths, we will recommend some films sure to get your pulse and your heart racing. Up first, the 1991 cult classic, “Def by Temptation.”

In one of his earliest pre-Pulp Fiction performances, Samuel L. Jackson helps face off against a supernatural menace to society in this theatrical sleeper hit.

A sexy female succubus is hell-bent on destroying Joel (James Bond III), a young divinity student through her powers of seduction. One by one, Joel’s friends fall victim to her charms, leaving him to face the temptress, and his destiny, alone. Bill Nunn also stars in this terrifying story of vampires and lust.

When the film was released in the early 1990s, the HIV/AIDS epidemic was on everyone’s minds. This story of a sexy woman who lured unsuspecting men into her lair and killed them one by one was not only scary but for a generation of men a frighteningly real possibility. Although a tad cheesy, “Def By Temptation” still is a thoughtfully frightening horror extravaganza.
