Writer, director, producer and Black Reel Award winner Jerry LaMothe continues to add talent to his upcoming film, The Promise Keeper.
Media mogul Mona Scott-Young will come aboard as an Executive Producer. LaMothe (Blackout, The Tombs, Amour Infinity) confirmed that actors Eric Ebouaney and Nonso Anozie are in talks to join the cast of the award-winning director’s Brooklyn/Haiti-set drama. The producers have not yet cast the two male leads of the film.
The Promise Keeper is a suspense drama about two childhood best friends from Brooklyn, that spans over two decades, which showcases the vastly different directions they each takes in life. When one gets deported back to Haiti, the other takes his first ever visit to the island, in search of answers, only months after the tragic earthquake that devastates the country.
Earlier this year, it was announced that actors S. Epatha Merkerson, Jamie Hector, Garcelle Beauvais, Edwidge Danticat, Jimmy-Jean-Louis, Pras of the Fugees and French actress, Stana Roumillac are attached to star in the film. Renowned photographer, Marc Baptiste is also attached as a producer.
Shooting is scheduled to commence this summer.
