First Look | Flight

20 06 2012

Two-time Oscar winner Denzel Washington is no Superman, but his latest film shows that he really can fly in the drama, Flight.

Washington plays a pilot who pulls a Sully Sullenberger, blacking out mid-air during a flight, only to wake up and discover that he miraculously lands his plane saving hundreds of lives. Later, when it appears he may have knocked back a few before the flight, an attorney (Don Cheadle) tries to keep the hero out of jail.

Directed by Robert Zemekis (Forrest Gump, Back to the Future and Castaway) and reunited with his Devil in a Blue Dress co-star, Cheadle, the film also co-stars John Goodman, James Badge Dale, Melissa Leo and Bruce Greenwood.

Four-time Black Reel Award winnner Washington continues his evolution relying less on his handsome looks and more on his amazing ability to channel various emotions ranging from his performances earlier in the year in Safe House to this film.

Flight lifts off in theaters on November 2.
