Hollywood star power was on full display last night at the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards. While the usual suspects took home the statuettes, we look back on the ladies who made the most memorable impressions on the pre-show Red Carpet.
Oscar-winner Halle Berry was stunning once again rocking a Nina Ricci gown that left everyone including a clearly flustered Paul Giamatti singing her praises. Ironically, Halle was mentioned on the pre-show coverage as an example of a fashionista who came from humble fashion beginnings to graduate to legendary status. Even after Monster’s Ball, Berry remains Hollywood’s fantasy, much in the way that Marilyn Monroe was a half-century ago.
Not to be outdone, Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria more than held her own in a gorgeous Zac Posen gown that made the pre-show commentators marvel at how s
he rocked bombshell swag in a such a tiny package. Other winners included Scarlett Johansson wearing Elie Saab, Olivia Wilde in a beautiful Marchesa gown, Winter’s Bone star Jennifer Lawrence looking radiant in Louis Vuitton, Easy A star Emma Stone was dazzling in her peach Calvin Klein Collection, Anne Hathaway rocking her best Diana Ross swag in very revealing Giorgio Armani Privé gown and a very-pregnant Natalie Portman looked chic in her pink Viktor & Rolf gown, baby bump included!
Mad Men star January Jones epitomized throwback Hollywood glamor in a hot red Versace gown but had the look of hunger as she made her way into the show. Superstar Angelina Jolie looked gorgeous in her green Atelier Versace gown but remains dangerously thin (seriously, would it hurt you to put on say ten pounds? I guess if Brad Pitt is cool with it, it shouldn’t be my concern). My personal favorites were Berry, Longoria, Stone and Lawrence; which looks work for you and why?
