First Look | A Nightmare on Elm Street

23 07 2009

Just when you thought he was out, New Line Cinema has pulled him back in. One of cinema’s scariest villains, Freddy Krueger returns for the relaunch of “A Nightmare on Elm Street.”

Instead of Robert Englund, Oscar nominee Jackie Earle Haley slips on the creepy fedora to play Krueger in Line Cinema’s relaunch of the “A Nightmare on Elm Street” series. The original “Nightmare” was written and directed by Wes Craven and released in 1984. The new project will keep the high school setting and delve deeper in the psychology of nightmares and Freddy Krueger himself.

That’s right film fans, old stories never fade away . . . they just keep repacking them for future generations. Ah, the money NEVER stops!!!

“A Nightmare on Elm Street” opens on April 16, 2010.
