Hot Trax | Slave to the Rhythm

9 09 2008

Back in the day, nobody exemplified ecletic funk and cool more than singer/model/actress/diva Grace Jones. While perusing the web, we came across a live performance of her mega-hit, “Slave to the Rhythm.”

With an introduction by “Deadwood” star Ian McShane, Jones saunters on stage and drops her biggest hit. Adorned with a peacock mask, long flowing cape, the 5′ 10″ diva in heels towers over the stage and literally over her adoring fans.

A later generation would remember the now 60-year old Jones for her unforgettable performance in “Boomerang,” where she brought the house down after Eddie Murphy’s Marcus turned down her sexual advance.

During the early days of MTV and the fun times that were the 1980’s, “Slave to the Rhythm” will always be one of the songs that forever be tattooed on that period.

HERE’S GRACE!!!!!!!
