Cover Guy | Ice Cube

19 08 2008

For all of the people who think of Ice Cube as a cuddly family film star, Source Magazine reminds the head of how influential the former N.W.A. lyricist truly was in their 20th Anniversary issue.

Cube, who stars in the inspirational football comedy, “The Longshots” was once the primary lyricist for the “world’s most dangerous rap group,” N.W.A. Along with cohorts Dr. Dre, MC Ren, DJ Yella and Eazy-E, Cube and his crew popularized “Gangsta Rap.”

After leaving the group, Cube kept on stomping enjoying first and ultra-successful solo career and for over a decade has also evolved to a comedy/action star as well as producer. He is particularly well-known for his incendiary raps on political topics, social relations and ethnic discrimination, particularly the mistreatment of African Americans.

Congratulations Cube and keep on “thuggin!”
