Meg Ryan leads an all-star cast of some of Hollywood most notable actresses in the remake of the 1939 George Cukor classic, “The Women.”

This latest version directed by former “Murphy Brown” creator Diane English comes after creative differences and scheduling conflicts have delayed the project for over 15 years. The project has had a revolving door of A-List talent actresses that have shown interest in participating including, Julia Roberts, Blythe Danner, Marisa Tomei, Queen Latifah, Holly Hunter, Uma Thurman, Ashley Judd, Whitney Houston and Helen Hunt to name a few.

The story follows clothing designer Mary Haines (Meg Ryan), who lives in a beautiful country home with her wealthy financier husband and their 11-year-old daughter. Her best friend Sylvia Fowler (Annette Benning) is the editor of a prominent fashion magazine, a woman who dictates the latest in taste and style for New York City fashionistas. When Mary’s husband becomes involved with Crystal Allen (Eva Mendes), a perfume salesgirl in Saks Fifth Avenue, her friendship with Sylvia is put to the test. Everyone in their close-knit circle of friends, including mother Edie Cohen (Debra Messing) and author Alex Fisher (Jada Pinkett Smith), begins to question their loyalty to each other and their romantic involvements.

This film is sure to give the “Sex in the City” ladies a run for their money.

“The Women” opens in theaters on September 12.
