When a group of Hollywood renegades combine with one of hip-hop’s signature producers, the result is one of the BEST trailers of all time and one of the fall’s most anticipated films, The Man With the Iron Fists.
Co-written by Wu Tang frontman, The RZA (along with Eli Roth (Hostel)), he also makes his directorial debut in this hybrid film of martial arts, spagetti western and hip-hop. The story focuses on a blacksmith, in nineteenth century China, who makes elaborate weapons for a small village and is forced to unite with warriors and assassins to protect the village and defeat a traitor who threatens to destroy them all.
Executive produced by Quentin Tarantino, it was initially conceived as early as 2005 when RZA (Robert Diggs) wrote the story and began discussing it Roth. In 2007, he came on as the producer and the two fine-tuned the story of the next several years.
RZA assembled a formidable cast including Oscar winner Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu, Rick Yune, Cung Le, Pam Grier, David Bautista and Jamie Chung.
The trailer with it’s eye-popping visuals, pounding RZA score and combination of indie talents sends chills up our spines and giddy with anticipation of this film.
The Man With Iron Fists will be released this fall. Check out the red band trailer below.
