For the past week, we’ve been waiting for the other shoe to drop – waiting for word that the proposed marriage between Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon was a publicity stunt. Alas, it appears that the marriage is legit, so now the clock begins ticking on how long until it ends!
Not since Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston, has a celebrity pairing caught us so off guard. Carey, who recently released a new CD was proudly proclaiming on Oprah’s couch that life was good and she was accustomed to being alone. Cannon had recently broken off a short engagement to model Selita Ebanks and was doing the dating thang!
All of that changed apparently when Carey hired him for the video of her single, “Bye Bye.” Soon afterwards, Cannon saw Carey as his “vision of love” and both decided that they “belonged together” so that Cannon could surely “touch her body.” (Sorry, we couldn’t help it!) Let me get this straight, the 38-year old multi-platinum selling “cougar” hooked up with the 27-year old C-level movie star and producer of “Wildin’ Out?”

Now comes word that Carey wanted a $4 million wedding but new hubby put his foot down and made her have a small ceremony. The two reportedly tied the knot in a low-key sunset ceremony at Mariah’s Caribbean home.
With this admission Carey supposedly is “cured” of her “diva-ish” ways.
“Nick loves Mariah for who she is and doesn’t give a toss about showbiz antics. He wanted them to get married asap, with no fuss.
“And Mariah was happy to go with the flow. For once, she is under the thumb and besotted. She just wants to make her man happy.
Lets see how long it is until Carey wakes up and realizes that her new husband starred “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” and she makes his ass pay!
We give them six months – who’s with us?
