Nothing sells in Hollywood like steamy, hot, sex! One of the great fringe benefits of my job is that I get an opportunity to combine my passion for the opposite sex with my love for cinema.
For the first time, I’ve decided to catalog the 25 Hottest Honeys in film this year. If you missed any of these, I suggest you check them out and tell me if I’m on point. In no particular order here are the performances that stoked my creative “passion.”
Jolene Blalock | Slow Burn
While the film sat on the shelf for several years before being released, you can’t take away the effectiveness of Blalock’s performance. Described as a “trick of light,” Blalock had to play a Black woman passing for white (or the other way around). She steamed up the screen with co-star Mekhi Phifer.
Wanda De Jesus | Illegal Tender
This sexy actress lit up the screen with raw passion channeling her inner Pam Grier as a pistol-packing protective mama. While she was cast as the mother, she generated more sexual energy than any of her co-stars who were half her age. Her performance was a revelation.
Alicia Keys | Smokin’ Aces
If there is one signature moment in her debut film, it occurs when fellow rapper Common scoops this songbird in his arms to help her escape harm’s way. Oh yeah, when she pulls the pistol on Ryan Reynolds on the stairwell – that was sexy too!
Sienna Miller | Factory Girl
It’s not just Diddy that thought that Miller was special. Her performance as the doomed socialite Edie Sedgwick in this film showed that the lady has talent. It also doesn’t hurt that she has an amazing body – which she freely displayed throughout this film.
Kerry Washington | I Think I Love My Wife
Red dress, red pumps, sexy lips were a few of the attributes that Washington used like a weapon in this romantic comedy. Along with her work in Spike Lee’s cult classic, “She Hate Me,” Washington has two bookend films that make a definitive statement of her cinematic sultryness.
Tang Lei | Lust, Caution
As an undercover operative that gets in way too deep with a foreign diplomat, Lei bares her soul and her clothes, participating in some the most passionate sex scenes of any film this year.
Jessica Biel | I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry
An old concept that only works because of Biel’s amazing talents – and her acting wasn’t bad either! If Adam Sandler won’t cop a feel, I’ll surely do it for you.
Jennifer Lopez | El Cantante
This one is kinda like cheating with your husband, but it was nice to see “Jenny from the Block” ratchet up this heat in this Latin biopic.
Sydney Tamia Poitier | Grindhouse
Whether lounging on a sofa or dangling her feet out of the window of a moving car, Poitier managed to exude sex appeal with little or no effort. Quentin Tarantino, you’re a nasty man!
Regina King | This Christmas
Okay you got me, I enjoy watching King try to seduce her uninterested husband wearing Victoria’s secret. Let’s just say that no actress has been better than King with baby oil and a belt!
Katherine Heigl | Knocked Up
Whoever said alcohol and common sense don’t mix must have had this film in mind. Her and Seth Rogen managed to film a love scene that was both sexy and funny, simultaneously.
Penelope Cruz | Volver
For years, I wondered what was the big deal about this actress – this film gave me my answer. Cruz sparkles in the film’s title role evolving from a shy withdrawn woman to a sensual force.
Virginia Madsen | The Number 23
While the film was forgettable, you can’t forget the heat that both she and Jim Carrey displayed as alter-egos Fingerling and Fabrizia. That story was more enjoyable than the primary tale.
Keira Knightley | Atonement
When Knightley emerges from the wading pool and presents herself to James McAvoy and later steams up the study, her inclusion was a no-brainer. Plus have you seen Knightley’s Chanel ads?
Juliette Binoche | Dan in Real Life
Binoche was the glue holding together this film. She is in the center of a romantic triangle with two brother over a weekend at a family reunion. Her scenes with Steve Carrell were both sexy and sweet.
Taraji P. Henson | Talk To Me
Henson is passion personified and she was true to form puttin’ on Don Cheadle in this film. If you liked her performances in this film, make sure to check out her strong work in “Baby Boy.”
Halle Berry | The Perfect Stranger
What would a list of sexy performers be with the Berry of my eye. Playing an investigative reporter, Berry was liquid sex trying to seduce Bruce Willis in this film. Berry is in my “Sexy Women Hall of Fame,” but that’s another list for another time.
Angelina Jolie | Beowulf
What could you say about a woman who still steams up the screen – in animation? Her cave-dwelling villian came complete with pony-tail and and high-heeled feet (that’s not a misprint) to go along with strategically placed mud. HOT!
Julia Roberts | Charlie Wilson’s War
As a wealthy socialite, Roberts got an opportunity to flaunt her sexuality all over the screen in the political drama. Whether seducing Hanks in a bathtub or whispering encouraging words of wisdom, this “Pretty Woman” had it going on.
Olga Kurlenko | Hitman
It’s hard to be sexy and neglected but Kurlenko made it happen in this action adventure. Playing a love slave, Agent 47 won’t sleep with her or kill her, but must try to avoid her overwhelming sex appeal.
Zuleikha Robinson | The Namesake
Robinson oozed sex appeal from her first adult frame all the way to breaking Gogol’s heart in this drama. Her honeymoon seduction scene to “Ye Mera Diwanapan” showed how combining sensuality and music gets many men in trouble.
Rie Rasmussen | Angel-A
When a down on his luck man tries to commit suicide, an angel with incredibly long sexy legs and incredible body show up to save him and help restore his confidence. We should all be lucky.
Marina Gedeck | The Lives of Others
Gedeck steamed up the screen as a forbidden woman in this early 1980s communism tale. She is such a prize in the film that she and her lover are spied on by a German agent who softens his hard-line stance by listening to their wordplay and ideals. Enough said!
